Call for doctoral researchers
The IRTG Belongings offers doctoral candidates conducting research on Jewish material culture the opportunity to become associated members for the funding period of the program, allowing them to gain new perspectives for their own work while contributing fresh insights to the existing group. The IRTG fosters a vibrant and international environment for scholarly exchange, providing not only general formats such as colloquia and research seminars, but also opportunities for networking through international conferences, symposia, and workshops. Associated members are encouraged to actively participate in IRTG academic events and to engage in discussions of the doctoral projects during regular (on site or hybrid) work meetings. In addition, they have the opportunity to attend internally organized Hebrew language courses, on condition that there are enough vacant places.
As long as the financial resources of IRTG Belongings permit, we can reimburse travel expenses for associated doctoral candidates that are related to activities within the framework of the IRTG Belongings.
When applying for association as doctoral candidate the following documents must be submitted as a single PDF file (in English) to belongings@uni-leipzig.de:
- Letter of motivation (one page)
- Outline of the planned dissertation project (two pages)
- CV including a list of publications (if available), degree certificates
