Lisa Trzaska has been a PhD candidate since summer 2024 at the International Research Training Group »Belongings: Jewish Material Culture in Twentieth-Century Europe and Beyond,« a collaborative project between the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the Leipzig University, and the Dubnow Institute.

She studied Jewish Studies and Philosophy in Potsdam, Berlin and Haifa and completed her MA degree in 2021 with a thesis on the biography of Joel Bril Löwe (1761–1802), a scholar and teacher of the Jewish Enlightenment. From 2021 to 2024 she conducted a provenance research project at the library of the Berlin Botanical Garden (Freie Universität Berlin).

Earlier academic work experience includes internships at the library of the Leo Baeck Institute in Jerusalem (2013) and in provenance research at Potsdam University Library (2017), as well as student assistant positions at the archives of the Centrum Judaicum Berlin (2019/2020) and in an edition project (2020/2021) by Uta Lohmann (IGdJ, Hamburg) and Kathrin Wittler (FU Berlin).
