The International Forum of Young Scholars on East European Jewry (IFYS) is an academic network and platform for early-career researchers working on the history, culture, and society of East European Jewry.
The forum promotes international exchange among young scholars from various disciplines such as history, literary studies, sociology, and Jewish studies. It brings together researchers particularly from Europe, Israel, and North America and serves as a platform for discussion and presentation. Conferences, workshops, and summer schools are regularly organized, where current research projects can be presented and critically discussed. The focus is often on innovative approaches and new perspectives on East European Jewry.
In addition, the forum supports networking and career development. Early-career researchers are given the opportunity to establish contacts, initiate collaborations, and position themselves within the international research landscape.
